A Holistic Approach to Vehicle Ramming Assessment and Perimeter Protection Design Best of GSX 2025 Conference Recording

The increasing threat of vehicle ramming attacks and vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) poses a significant risk to public safety, infrastructure, and national security. Recent incidents worldwide, including those in the USA, underscore the urgent need for effective perimeter protection strategies. In response to this critical concern, our team has developed a comprehensive approach to vehicle ramming assessments and perimeter protection design. During our presentation, we will (1) Identify gaps in current vehicle ramming assessment methodologies, (2) Introduce a practical, holistic approach to conducting vehicle ramming assessments, (3) Discuss the importance of collaboration between physical security experts and protective design engineers in enhancing perimeter protection and public safety.
