Soft targets refer to populations that are exposed and vulnerable to attacks due to inadequate protection of people, technology, and processes. These vulnerabilities have led to numerous civilian casualties globally in environments affected by political instability, war, and terrorism. In November 2023, Al Jazeera reported that Nigeria’s military mistakenly killed over 80 civilians in a drone strike, with similar accusations against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza.
Join Edward Orin, CEO of Edgard Consulting Limited and military veteran with global experience in hostile environments and expertise in HEAT, PSAT, and DDT courses, as he shares strategies to enhance safety measures and provides actionable insights on tactical operations that protect soft targets and minimize casualties.
Learning Objectives
Assess and address vulnerabilities specific to soft targets using proven risk management methodologies. This involves conducting thorough risk assessments, implementing tailored security measures, enhancing situational awareness, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to minimize threats and ensure resilience in volatile environments.
Implement tactical measures to enhance situational awareness and emergency preparedness in vulnerable environments. By deploying advanced monitoring systems, providing specialized training, establishing clear communication protocols, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to ensure a proactive and effective response to potential threats and emergencies.
Leverage best practices from HEAT, PSAT, and DDT Courses to improve organizational resilience and operational efficiency. By enhancing risk awareness, strengthening security protocols, optimizing emergency response strategies, fostering a culture of preparedness, and ensuring personnel are equipped with the necessary skills to operate effectively in threat-prone environments.
