Most people are unaware of the multitude of systems operating in the background of the buildings around them every day, and in the drive to achieve greater efficiencies and to improve occupant experience these systems are increasing in quantity and complexity. These building control systems have the potential to introduce security risks that extend beyond what most people realize so it is important to understand what they are, why it is a concern, and how we got to this point before we can begin to address the problem.

A presentation from the Information Technology Security Community.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the types of building control systems that are of concern
  • Identify the nature of the vulnerabilities related to these systems
  • Understand the potential risks
