In recent years, at least 12 European NATO nations have witnessed an ever widening range of physical and cyber sabotage operations against industry and government. From cable cutting, RF signal jamming, cyber strikes and arson attacks to the use of explosives on land and against aircraft, the threat by all indicators is expanding.
This presentation will give a helicopter view of the phenomenon, outlines the latest 2024-2025 trends and thinking on how and where sabotage fits into the hybrid warfare matrix, and zooms in on several incidents of high concern to security services. It will conclude with an appreciation of a number of probable triggers and key dates likely to prompt further incidents.
