Presenters*

Solveiga Jaskunas is a seasoned HR professional and career coach with over fifteen years of experience in nonprofit and for-profit organizations. She holds dual master’s degrees in Industrial Psychology and Human Resources Management and PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. As an immigrant to the United States, she overcame language barriers and numerous rejections before climbing the HR ladder to senior leadership roles. Her journey motivated her to mentor fellow immigrants and to start her own consultancy, which focuses on HR consulting, career coaching, training, speaking, and network referral services for organizations and individuals.  

A graduate of DC SHRM's Senior Leadership program, Solveiga's passion lies in coaching immigrant professionals and helping employers make their workplaces more inclusive. She has also dedicated her time to aiding refugees, homeless children, and at-risk youth. Her story has reached a broader audience through speaking engagements domestically and internationally, in which she has shared her journey, offering hope and encouragement to other immigrant professionals. 

Her recent speaking event at GSX reached participants from more than 90 countries. She has spoken at national and international events such as The Expat Women Summit in March and October 2024, HR Global Summit 2024, HR Week in Lithuania 2024, SHRM Talent 2025, GSX2025, DisruptHR and more). Solveiga was recently featured in Security Magazine as one of three leaders with distinct LinkedIn communication styles. 

Alvar Orellana McBride, CPP is the CEO of Griffin Risk and Director of ASIS International Latam & Caribbean Board, a Board-certified security professional in risk management, crisis management,  corporate security management, and cyber and electronic security. A key partner of the company’s board and functional leaders, an enabler in developing strategy with a high and positive impact on the business results, personnel, and customer-oriented facilitating a zero-incident culture environment and experienced in leading multicultural and diverse teams with solid and proven results in multinational organizations and fast-paced environments with a highly positive impact in critical environments. 

Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a strategic and results-oriented approach to risk management and security, conceiving, designing, and executing comprehensive global programs that have significantly enhanced security postures and mitigated risks. As Global Director of Corporate Security at DiDi Mobility, he successfully developed and implemented global initiatives in travel security, executive protection, risk management, incident response, and investigations. He also played a pivotal role in defining and implementing the InApp security strategy, which focused on user protection. At Google, he also spearheaded significant upgrades to data center security operations across the region, standardizing policies, procedures, and compliance measures and improving incident investigation programs. He further showcased his strategic capabilities by conceiving and developing a global security operational audit program for Google data centers. His tenure at DHL was marked by similar successes in leading security operations, building high-performing teams, and ensuring compliance with a complex array of security policies, standards, and regulations. 

He has spoken at national companies' motivational events and international such as ASIS International Latam 2022, IV Forum WIS Latam, Rio de Janeiro 2023, Global Leaders Summit 2024 "The Age Of AI & Sustainable Future," and recently the “ASIS LATAM & CA 2024 Integrated Security Congress”.
