Description
While there has always been a long-standing fear among experts that actors would someday carry out a bioterrorist attack, the global COVID-19 pandemic has brought the spectre of bioterrorism back into the spotlight.
Societies have become increasingly polarized and the fourth industrial revolution has made access to toxic agents uncomfortably easy. In this presentation we will explore how an insider could use privileged access to launch a 'simple' biological attack from within and we will investigate the impact of such an event.
Together, we will demystify the threat so that corporate security professionals around the world are better equipped to make realistic threat assessments and more effectively mitigate the risk of insider-bioterrorism.

David is the CEO of Core CBRN International. Based in The Hague, The Netherlands, the company offers comprehensive solutions in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence. Between 2010 - 2017, David was an Inspection Team Leader at the Organisation for The Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and acting Head of Safety and Chemistry. In 2013, David was one of the UN inspectors to investigate the use of chemical weapons in the Ghouta area, in the suburbs of Damascus, Syria. A confirmed chemical weapons' attack that claimed the lives of approximately 1400 people.
