The war of Russia against Ukraine and the economic sanctions have daunting, unprecedented consequences, and challenges to corporate security in Europe. After the initial shock, companies realized that the war would be prolonged. Thus, they returned to work in Ukraine. Despite disruptions in electricity and utilities, bombardments of civil infrastructure, logistical chain interruptions, companies continue to operate. These imposed additional responsibilities on security directors. To be better prepared for compliance and insurance, a company should have a substantial Country Security Plan mirroring the personnel protection and awareness measures. Emergencies, CBRN, natural disaster response, and recovery plans should incorporate the BCM and BCP if the company wishes to successfully operate up to the best international standards and practices in war-torn Ukraine.
