Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the threat landscape, enabling extremist actors to scale influence, weaponize information, and exploit workplace vulnerabilities in unprecedented ways. Subject matter experts from the Extremism and Political Instability Community (EPIC) and the Human Threat Management Community (HTMC) join for this webinar to examines how AI-driven tools and tactics are fueling sophisticated forms of extremist activity and what security professionals can do to stay ahead of these risks.
Participants in this webinar will be supported to:
- Describe ways in which automated AI-powered threat campaigns are being used to harass, dox, and coordinate misinformation targeting corporate brands and executives.
- Discuss the rise of insider threats enabled by AI-assisted reconnaissance and next-generation social engineering.
- Identify the dangers of identity spoofing and reputational harm through hyper-realistic synthetic media and deepfakes.
- Identify AI-generated planning tactics that facilitate facility mapping and expose physical vulnerabilities.
- Detect the risks posed by radicalized employees who leverage AI tools to sabotage infrastructure or leak sensitive information.
Drawing on case studies and expert insights, the webinar will deliver guidance for recognizing signs of AI-driven extremist activity, strengthening organizational resilience through partnership and collaboration, and implementing ethical AI governance that protects against exploitation.

Amanda Bear is the Threat Assessment and Intelligence Investigator for Emory University’s Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR), where she supports the university’s mission through behavioral threat assessment, intelligence analysis, campus violence prevention efforts, and the development of policies and practices aligned with nationally recognized standards. She brings more than a decade of experience supporting higher education, public sector, and complex organizational environments.
Her professional background includes experience in law enforcement, corporate investigations, and security consulting, providing her with a balanced perspective that integrates operational practice, policy analysis, and academic-informed frameworks. Throughout her career, Amanda has led and contributed to high-risk and sensitive investigations involving insider threat, misconduct, violence risk, and anti-corruption.
In addition to her investigative work, Amanda is an experienced law-enforcement instructor, having developed and delivered training on investigations, threat assessment, officer safety, and policy-based decision-making.
Amanda is actively engaged in professional leadership and industry collaborative initiatives focused on human threat and security-focused committees that emphasize training, awareness, and cross-sector collaboration. She holds multiple certifications through ASIS International, reflecting advanced expertise in protection, security risk management, and applied security principles.

Diana Concannon, PsyD, PCI, CTM, is a forensic psychologist with more than two decades experience conducting threat assessment and management consultations, violence risk assessments, fitness for duty evaluations, and crisis interventions in myriad contexts. She works with government agencies, corporations, and educational institutions to establish threat assessment teams and workplace violence prevention programs. Diana is chair emeritus of the Extremism and Political Instability Community of ASIS International, and past president of the National Council of Schools of Professional Psychology. She has authored books related to kidnapping investigations and neurocriminology, articles related to threat assessment, extremism, moral injury, among other topics, and has been interviewed by more than 200 media concerns, including NPR and Forbes.
Diana is principal and co-founder of CPW Consulting Group, Inc., which owns Specialized Training Services. She is also Associate Provost of Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships at Alliant International University, where she also serves as Dean of the California School of Forensic Studies.

Steve Crimando is the founder and principal of Behavioral Science Applications LLC. He is an emergency behavioral health clinician, educator, and crisis responder with nearly four decades of experience in threat assessment and violence prevention. Steve is a Certified Threat Manager (CTM) with the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and a Certified Master Trainer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) program. He is a cleared mental health partner to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), as well as an advisor and instructor for the FBI’s Community Anit-Threats Officer (CATO) program. Steve serves as the Chair of the Extremism & Political Instability Community (EPIC) Steering Committee and a member of the Human Threat Management Community Steering Committee for ASIS International. He is a published author frequently called upon by the media and the courts as an expert in violence prevention and response. Steve was deployed as a crisis responder to both the 1993 and 2001 World Trade Center attacks, the New Jersey’s anthrax screening center and many other acts of mass violence. He has served as a mental health specialist on the Bergen County (NJ) Police Department Hostage Recovery Team (HRT), the New Jersey Police Surgeons Team, and the United Nations Office for Operational Support-Special Situations Unit.
