How to Implement a Travel Risk Management Program at Your Organization

Often organizations understand the need to address threats to their traveler abroad (not just in remote or unstable locations) but they don't know where to begin. This presentation will cover the major questions risk managers should address in order to create and implement a Travel Risk Management (TRM) program at their own organizations. While not every organization needs its own in-house 24/7 Global Security Operations Center and Analyst Team, the key is to find the appropriate structure that fits within one's own organization.

This presentation will cover topics from sourcing the appropriate insurance/assistance coverage and technology options, training recommendations, the basics of crisis management, and more.

Since joining On Call in 2016, Ben has responded to major incidents such as the 2016 Brussels Attack, conducted security consulting projects in high-risk locations such as Haiti and Niger, and led evacuations ranging from violent protests in Mexico, to major hurricanes devastating the Caribbean. Prior to joining On Call, Ben served in the role of a Third Officer with the U.S. Department of Defense's Military Sealift Command.

Drew Jenkins is the founder and CEO of Global Nomad Solutions (GNS) since forming the company in September 2017. He has lived and worked in 12 countries and traveled to over 60 countries spanning North America, Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East while working for the U.S. Government as both a military officer and diplomat. Drew also has extensive experience working in security management, training, risk analysis, counter-terrorism, and global intelligence.Drew has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Colorado and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations and Business from San Diego State University. Drew is fluent in Spanish and is a Disabled Veteran having served with honor and distinction in three armed conflicts while in the US Army.
