Description

This presentation will focus on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) and Russian cyber offensives. The differences between state-sponsored and other non-governmental malign activities will be described. A distinction will be made between espionage and offensive operations.

The nature and types of Cyber Espionage and Cyber Warfare will be discussed, as well as methods of detecting, assessing and responding to those threats. The use of combined physical and cyber-attacks, such as those implemented in the Russian invasion of the Ukraine will be discussed.

My current position is as a Securitas Security Supervisor / Manager contracted at a major defense industry manufacturing facility. For the past seven years I’ve been engaged in physical security roles at various security contract clients focusing on technology companies.

My career has involved many years of experience as a scientist and subsequently as a security professional working with IT professionals in various technology and project/program management capacities.

I’ve passed the exam for CPO through IFPO and I’m currently working on the ASIS CPP and PS Certifications. Academically my undergraduate and graduate background is in neuroscience, biochemistry and pharmaceutical sciences.

I received a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the CT Army National Guard.
